Another prayer

for us all

Maybe I should not write publicly when my first exhalation-words of the day are, “O, dear.” Yet, that is where I am beginning, so let me see what comes.

~~~~~
The powers that be are busy crafting misery for most. O, dear (Mystery,) give us eyes to see, ears to hear, feet to walk towards one another, and away from the lies that violence can ever be redemptive, or that wealth and power based in the death and destruction of others can ever be good for anyone. May it be so.
The people are awakening to the dangers greed and complacency have welcomed into our governance. O, dear (sisters and brothers,) may we find our ways home even along narrow paths, through open gates, to sisters and brothers who stand for love and justice. May we be welcomed home to ourselves, and find healing in the company we keep and cherish. May we create and sustain new ways of being together as one people. May it be so.
The northern half of the globe is tipping towards the sun, and the land is greening again. O, dear (Mother Nature,) teach us to live lovingly within the systems of this planet. Teach us, again, to be gardeners, to be soft-bodied, human-animals made of soil and stardust. Flavor our bread and soup with gratitude and generosity. May it be so.
We humans have forgotten much of the wisdom garnered over hundreds of thousands of years. We have cut down the forests, and desecrated the land, then lost ourselves to screens and distracting devices. O, dear (Ancestors,) re-mind and re-orient us towards wisdom; re-educate us in the ways of life, the medicine of plants and soil, the cycles of seasons, our own sacred living and dying. May it be so.
O, dear and unknowable One, be present to us now as we face our fears and what we, ourselves, have wrought through wrong-mindedness and hard-heartedness. May we find our strength and courage, may we find the power of love and wield it gently and wisely. May we become peacemakers, artisans, poets, priests, prophets (who are those who speak truth,) healers, builders, stewards, and leaders who serve first. May we finally, finally, love one another. May it be so, O dear One. May it be so.
